Ok, so you’ve finally chosen and booked your wedding photographer. Well done – that’s one of the biggest wedding planning to-do boxes ticked! Now however, you are faced with yet another difficult decision – which photography package should you book for your wedding? With most wedding photographers although there might be a few extra bells and whistles that differentiate some of their packages, usually the price is determined more than anything by how many hours the photographer is shooting for. So, figuring out your Queenstown wedding timeline is a crucial part of not only planning your wedding day, but also booking your photographer and budgeting for the wedding.
But you’ve never been married before and you’re not a professional photographer – so how are you supposed to know how many hours of coverage you need on your wedding day?
Well, I thought I’d try and make life a little bit easier for you by drawing up an example Queenstown Wedding Timeline. I have drafted a PDF containing not only a sample wedding timeline but also a list of some of the popular photos that are normally taken during the various parts of your wedding day. Hopefully this will give you a clearer idea of what photos or moments are important to you and how much coverage you need in order for your photographer to capture them all. This particular Queenstown Wedding Timeline is based on an Autumn wedding with the ceremony at Thurlby Domain and the Reception at Gantley’s Restaurant but the template and general structure should work well for other seasons and venues/locations with a few tweaks. If you use this as a starting point and customize if for your wedding day as you start to nail things down you should be able to get a pretty good idea of how long you need the photographer there for, which of his/her packages to book and how much it’s likely to cost you.
