Thurlby Cottage – awesome Queenstown accommodation/getting ready option that is literally right next door to Thurlby Domain

Recently whilst browsing the internet I stumbled upon a listing for Thurlby Cottage, a gorgeous and romantic cottage located a stone’s throw from the stables at Thurlby Domain.

Are you planning to have your wedding amongst the old stone ruins, beautiful gardens, and historic buildings of Thurlby Domain here in Queenstown?  If so this cottage could be perfect for both accommodation and also as a place for you and your bridal party to get ready the morning of your wedding day.

Being located to close to Thurlby Domain takes a lot of the “get to the church on time” stress out of your wedding preparations.

And as the cottage has such a peaceful rural setting it’s bound to help you feel more relaxed going into your big day.

The other day snow was falling at valley floor level here in Queenstown and I decided to pop out to Thurlby Cottage to take a few photos of the place while the white stuff was still hanging around.  I have posted those photos here and I will add some summer/autumn photos later this year.

I have also been in touch with the owners and will hopefully be taking and posting some interior shots of the cottage here on the blog soon.

In the meantime here is the link to the listing I found for Thurlby Cottage –

Stay tuned for updated info & photos and if you have any questions re Thurlby Cottage post a comment here or email Patrick (that’s me) at and I’ll do my best to answer them.

I am a wedding photographer based in beautiful Queenstown, New Zealand. I have been full-time with the photography thing since 2006 and still can’t believe I get to do what I love for a job! Here are a few words that I think sum me up: I AM…tall and bald, happy, imaginative, constantly hungry, active and friendly. I LOVE…my girl, coffee, photography, fooooooood, my family and friends, riding bikes, being outside, the simple things in life, people… I love my life! I believe that wedding photography can and should be SIMPLE, NATURAL, BEAUTIFUL.
