Winter has arrived in Queenstown!

It snowed heavily down to lake level today  – it seems winter has arrived in Queenstown!

Even after living  here for twenty years I still get excited by fresh snow and the changing of the seasons.  I have a sunrise to sunset shoot in the snow tomorrow and I can’t wait.  Bring on winter – and woolly gloves!.  (Stay tuned for some photos here on the blog in the next couple of days).

If you’re planning a winter wedding in Queenstown this year it’s going to be stunning – just make sure you have a warm throw for that backless wedding dress!

I hope you all have a great winter – stay warm and drive safe.

PS If you are planning a winter wedding and want some photos on the snow, you often need to fly in a helicopter or drive up to the snow.  We only get snow down to the valley floor here in Queenstown once or twice a winter normally.  Typical snow levels are about half-way down the surrounding mountain peaks (about 1000 metres, or 700 metres above lake level).
