Helena & Peter’s wedding, 17 January 2012

On the 17th of January 2012 I had the pleasure of photographing Helena & Peter’s wedding.  It was a simple yet beautiful affair.  I met up with Helena and Peter and their good friends Dean and Liz at Canyon’s Lodge here in Queenstown (where they were staying.  Canyon’s Lodge also organized the whole wedding for them).  After a few photos in the beautiful setting of Canyon’s Lodge we drove to The Helicopter Line’s helipad at Frankton and got on board our very own chopper!

Chris from The Helicopter Line flew us to the nearby “Ledge” on Cecil Peak where Helena and Peter had their wedding ceremony.  The weather was perfect – blue skies with dramatic clouds and a gentle breeze to keep us cool on an otherwise very hot day.

After a beautiful ceremony, a few photos of the newly wed couple and their bridal party, and a few minutes just spent taking in the amazing scenery and peacefulness of The Ledge, we all reluctantly got back in the chopper and flew back to the real world.

It was a magic day – thanks Helena and Peter for inviting me along to share it with you.  Here is a slideshow of images from the day – I hope you enjoy them.

I am a wedding photographer based in beautiful Queenstown, New Zealand. I have been full-time with the photography thing since 2006 and still can’t believe I get to do what I love for a job! Here are a few words that I think sum me up: I AM…tall and bald, happy, imaginative, constantly hungry, active and friendly. I LOVE…my girl, coffee, photography, fooooooood, my family and friends, riding bikes, being outside, the simple things in life, people… I love my life! I believe that wedding photography can and should be SIMPLE, NATURAL, BEAUTIFUL.
